PT3: Outdated Thought Patterns That Are Quietly Running Your Life — Reincarnation Edition

Last time in PT2 we looked at outdated thought patterns that slam the lid shut the second someone says “UFO.” Today we’re cracking the lid even wider on something that makes UFOs look like a warm-up act: reincarnation.

Don’t worry — your brain won’t fall out. What might fall out, though, are a few dusty old beliefs about life, death, and who we really are.

Madhava Setty, MD just dropped a mind-bender on Substack titled “Reincarnation: The Biggest Secret” after a high-level symposium in New York last September. The group wasn’t your typical think-tank — it included whistleblowers, scientists, physicians, filmmakers, and even survivors of satanic ritual abuse and MKUltra-style programming. They were asked one simple question:

“What is the most important information you believe is being hidden from the public?”

Setty’s answer? Reincarnation. Not as woo-woo philosophy, but as the hidden operating system of consciousness itself. Big thanks (and a direct credit) to Rachel Vaughan— a courageous survivor who was at that same symposium and whose submission is featured (with her permission) in Setty’s piece. You can read her post and the full context here:

Here are some of the funniest (and most stubborn) outdated thought patterns that still keep reincarnation locked in the “maybe later” folder:

The Light at the End of the Tunnel: Why Millions of People Experience Visions When Near Death

“When you’re dead, you’re dead — end of story.”
The Story:
My old roommate was a hardcore materialist. He’d wave his hand and say, “Dust to dust, lights out, game over.” Then one night he told me about his four-year-old daughter who kept describing a “previous house with the red door” in perfect detail — a house he and his wife had never lived in or even visited. He laughed it off as “cute imagination.”
Old Pattern: Strict one-and-done materialism (the same software that once insisted the Earth was flat and ulcers were caused by stress).
Open-Mind Upgrade: Thousands of verified cases collected by researchers like Ian Stevenson and Jim Tucker show kids remembering specific names, places, and events from “past lives” — details later confirmed by records. Add near-death experiences (NDEs) studied by Dr. Bruce Greyson, plus Setty’s own operating-room story of a tribal patient whose spirit literally left as visible “smoke” (and was guided back by elders), and the “lights out forever” script starts looking a little outdated.

“Reincarnation is just hippie stuff from India — not for serious people.”
The Story:
A very buttoned-up accountant friend once rolled her eyes at a documentary about past-life memories: “That’s fine for Buddhists, but I’m Christian / atheist / busy adult.” Six months later she read Setty’s piece and realized the symposium wasn’t full of crystal-waving mystics — it included former high-level government folks, academics, and physicians asking the same questions.
Old Pattern: Cultural/religious tribalism that dismisses anything outside our own backyard.
Open-Mind Upgrade: The idea shows up across cultures and history (including early Christianity before it was edited out). Setty points out the ruling networks have allegedly known this for centuries while keeping the public in a single-life scarcity mindset. If we’re eternal consciousness playing a multi-round game, suddenly a lot of fear-based control systems lose their power.

“One life is plenty stressful — why add karma and past lives to the mix?”
The Story:
I caught myself thinking this during a rough week: “If I have to come back and fix anything else, I’m tapping out.” Then I remembered Setty’s video-game analogy — most of us are here for experience and growth, while a tiny group treats it like a high-score power run across lifetimes.
Old Pattern: Fear of the unknown + “keep it simple” comfort zone.
Open-Mind Upgrade: Understanding reincarnation doesn’t add stress — it removes the ultimate one. Death stops being the final boss and becomes more like a “level complete” screen with a chance to review and choose what’s next. No wonder it’s called the biggest secret. It flips the entire game from fear to curiosity.

“Science has already proven there’s no soul.”
The Story:
Classic line from the same crowd that once “knew” heavier-than-air flight was impossible.
Old Pattern: Setty gently reminds us that anesthesia doesn’t turn consciousness off — it just blocks recall. Combine that with rigorously documented children’s past-life cases and you start to see the materialist paradigm cracking.
Open-Mind Upgrade: Real science stays curious. The “unidentified” in reincarnation research is exactly where the good stuff lives.

The Gentle (and Slightly Cosmic) Truth

These old patterns didn’t stick around because we’re dumb. They stuck around because they kept things simple, safe, and predictable. But when you finally lift the lid and consider that we might be indestructible consciousness temporarily wearing these bodies… nothing catastrophic happens. Your brain stays right where it belongs. What does fall out are the rigid fears that told us we’re small, temporary, and powerless.

Opening your mind to reincarnation isn’t about believing every wild past-life story. It’s about staying curious enough to say, “I don’t know… but I’m willing to find out.”
And who knows? That small act of openness might be exactly what prepares us for whatever comes next — in this life or the next one. Your brain is safe.
          The soul is eternal.
The sky (and the afterlife) is wide open.
Maybe it’s time we stopped being afraid to look.
